Frank C. Schreck, of Bay City, passed away Monday morning September 19, 2011 at Bay Shores Nursing Center, age 88.  The son of the late Paul & Rose (Berger) Schreck, he was born October 1, 1922 in New York, New York.  In 1946 Frank married the former Annette M. Murray and together they moved to Bay City. Annette preceded him in death in 1999.  Frank served with the U.S. Army during WWII and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.  He was a member of the American Legion Post #18.  He was retired from Austin Construction of Detroit.  Frank was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, serving as Eucharistic Minister, lector and usher and was a former member of the St. Joseph School Board and ran the high school dances for many years.  He was a life member and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council #414.  Since its inception in 1968, Frank has been very active with All Saints Central High School, serving as a member of the schools first School Board.  He was also a longtime member of the All Saints Foundation and Booster Club.  Frank was a well known proponent of catholic schools and is remembered as the ticket man at most every All Saints sporting event, selling tickets for the gate and 50/50 drawings.Mr. Schreck is survived by his eight children, Joanne (Stanley) Pawlowski, Alice (Larry) Collicker and Joyce (William) Wade all of Bay City, Donna Shaheen of Orlando, FL, William (Martha) Schreck of Hendersonville, NC, Katherine (Kenneth) Szabo of Saginaw, Jean (Jim) Skrzypek of Belding and Marjorie French of Pontiac; 14 grandchildren, Brian (Julie) Pawlowski, Kristin (Brad) Monaghan, Deborah (Jay) McMillan, Danielle (Dion Hawley) Shaheen, Caroline Hassel, Michelle (Jay) Haas, Larry (Mandie) Collicker, Jeff (Darcy) Collicker, Jill Skrzypek, Steven Skrzypek, Stephanie Wade, Adam Wade, Leslie Schreck and Eric Schreck; 11 great-grandchildren; his sister, Anna Heffran of Delaware; a sister-in-law, Agnes Schreck of New Jersey; and many nieces & nephews.  Frank was also preceded in death by his brother, Fred Schreck; four brothers-in-law, Robert (Dorothy) Murray, William (Anna) Murray, Msgr. Francis J. Murray and Maurice Heffran; and a son-in-law, Daniel Shaheen.The family would like to thank Bay Shores Nursing Center and Dr. Raza for the excellent care that Frank received.The Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00am on Friday September 23, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Officiating will be Rev. Fr. Patrick J. O'Connor.  The Rite of Committal will follow in Floral Gardens Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the U.S. Army and the Bay County Veterans Council.   Friends may call at Gephart Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Thursday from 2:00 to 8:30pm with the KofC Resolution of Condolence & Bible Presentation taking place at 6:00pm followed by the Vigil for the Deceased led by Sr. Gail A. Addis, I.H.M.  Mr. Schreck will lie instate at the church on Friday from 10:00am until time of service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the All Saints Athletic Association or St. Joseph Catholic Church.
