Mr. Frank L. Solinski, of Bay City, passed away Friday evening, November 13, 2015 at the Bay Medical Care Facility, age 92. The son of the late Joseph and Louise (Ludwika Stamszek) Solinski, he was born on September 25, 1923 in Bay County. Frank retired from Aetna Cement Co. after 35 years of employment. He was also a lifetime farmer. Frank was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish - St. Stanislaus Kostka Church and also of the Knights of Columbus Council #2740 in Essexville. He enjoyed wheeling and dealing on trailers he built and cars that he sold in front of his home for family and friends.
Frank is survived by his wife, Jewell D. Solinski, whom he married on April 7, 1964; his children, Nola Rechsteiner and Donnie Looper, Joyce (Gary) Staudacher, Dale (Shirley) Padgett, Nancy (Jim) Doan, Shari Miller and James (Kim) Solinski; 18 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Tony (Sally) Solinski and Floyd Solinski; two sisters, Verna (Ed) Tacey and Patricia (Joe) Badour; and several nieces and nephews that he loved. Besides his parents, Frank was also preceded in death by a brother, John Solinski; and three sisters, Clara (Darrell) Vermeesch, Mary Ann Solinski and Anna (Sonny) Tacey.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at the Bay Medical Care Facility for going above and beyond in the loving care they gave to Frank.
The Funeral Liturgy and Rite of Committal will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 16, 2015 at Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish - St. Stanislaus Koskta Church. The Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Richard M. Filary. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the Knights of Columbus Bible Presentation beginning at 7:00 p.m. Mr. Solinski will lie instate at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish.
