Wackerle, Frank H. Eureka, Illinois Formerly of Bay City, Michigan Frank Henry Wackerle, age 94, passed away following a lingering illness on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka. He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church. Frank was born on July 2, 1919 in Bay City, Michigan to Henry and Emma Meyer Wackerle. He married Faye Fischer in Bay City. She passed away in 1982. He later married Alma Schieber on August 1, 1984 in Bloomington, IL. Surviving are his wife, Alma Wackerle of Eureka, IL; two sons, Barry (Susan) Wackerle of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada; Randy (Jane) Wackerle of Bay City, Michigan; one daughter, Julee (Lee) Holmes of LaPlace, IL; two step sons, Mike (Mary) Schieber of Congerville, IL; Jeff (Diane) Schieber of Carlock, IL; three step daughters, Sue (Lee) Ehling; Karen (Mark) Hangartner; Kris (Keith) Noe all of Eureka, IL; numerous grandchildren, step grandchildren, great grandchildren and step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert Wackerle; two sisters, Elaine Bahler, Helen Holeman; and one step grandson. Frank was a member of the Carpenter's Union Local #706 for almost 60 years. He worked as a construction superintendent for the Englehart Construction Company for over 40 years, building the Friendship Shell, schools, churches, and many landmarks in the tri-city area. Funeral services will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the Apostolic Christian Church on Fraser Road in Kawkawlin, Michigan. Officiating will be the clergy of the church with interment following in the church cemetery. Mr. Wackerle will lie in state at the church on Sunday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. there will be no visitation at the Gephart Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka, IL or to the Bay City Apostolic Christian Church.
