Schwab, Frederick James "Fred" Bay City, Michigan Our loving husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully early Saturday morning July 9, 2016 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 93 years. The son of the late William G. and Edna (Daly) Schwab was born on April 28, 1923 in Bay City and has resided here all of his life. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church East Side Campus, retired from Bay City Chevrolet as a Journeyman Pipefitter and was a life member of the Joppa Lodge # 315. He proudly served his Country in the United States Marines during WW II, enjoyed golfing, loved spending time with his family and most of all with his grand and great grandchildren. On May 25, 1946 he married his loving wife of 70 years, the former Luella M. Jenkins and she is left to cherish his memories along with one daughter and son-in-law; Marilyn and Timothy Herber, one granddaughter; Kelly Herber, one grandson; Matthew and Christy Herber, two great grandchildren; Tyler and Ashlynn Herber all of Bay City, one brother-in-law; Ken Keyser and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents William and Edna, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter; Amy Lynn Herber, two sisters; Ethel (William) LaPan and June Keyser and five brothers; William G. (Grace) Schwab, William H. (Adeline) Schwab, Charles (Avis) Schwab, Harold (Marion) Schwab and Bernard Schwab. A Memorial Service will take place Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church - West Campus 4267 Two Mile Road Bay City, MI 48708. Officiating will be Rev. Jeff Temple with private inurnment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. At the request of Mr. Schwab cremation has taken place at the Sunset Valley Crematory and there will be no visitation at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. The family will be present at the church on Wednesday to receive visitors from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
