Gail L. Phillips, of Bay City, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at McLaren Bay Region, age 63. She was born on March 24, 1951 in Traverse City. Gail was a Certified Nursing Assistant and retired from Bay County. She loved all animals, especially dogs. Gail was a longtime advocate for the Humane Society and had rescued several dogs over the years. As a continuation of her love of dogs, she had a large collection of Snoopy collectibles. Gail took pride in caring for her home and yard, but also enjoyed going up north camping as often as she could. She was an avid newspaper reader and liked to be up to date with any interesting stories, especially politics. Gail's friendly personality and quick wit will be missed. Gail is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Karl and Kim Phillips; her nephew, Kyle Phillips and his fiancé, Jennifer and her three children; her close cousin and best friend, Aljean Phillips; and other cousins and many friends. Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Belle Phillips. It was Gail's desire for cremation to take place. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Riverwalk Baptist Church, 706 Joseph St. Officiating will be Pastor Steve Roe. Gail's family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Bay County.
