Garnett J. Matuszewski Bay City, Michigan Mrs. Garnett June Matuszewski passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at McLaren Bay Region, age 89. She was born June 9, 1924 and has resided in Bay City all her life. Garnett was a member of St. James Parish, the Altar Society and The League of Catholic Women & Men. She was retired from the former Michigan Bell Company and was a member of the Pioneers Club. Garnett is survived by her children, Janice Miller of Charlevoix and Daniel (Laraine) Matthews of Bay City. Three grandchildren, Chad (Vivian) Miller of Grant, Michigan, Misty (Brandon) Ciptak of Longmont, Colorado and David Matthews of Maryland. Two step grandchildren, Kerry (John) Verdi of Arlington, Virginia and Jeff (Beth) Brainard of Maryland. Three great grandchildren, Joey Brainard, Cameron and Sydney Verdi. And a sister, Arlene Brechtelsbauer of Orlando Florida. Garnet will be missed by several nieces and nephews and longtime friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd, her parents George and Blanch Cnudde, a brother Leonard and sister Sylvia Schabel. The Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at St. James Catholic Church. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. William J. Gruden. Private entombment will follow in St. Patrick Mausoleum. Mrs. Matuszewski will lie instate at the church on Saturday, May 17th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Liturgy.
