Gary K. DeCatur

DeCATUR, Gary K. of Bay City, Michigan. Mr. DeCatur passed away Saturday evening, March 13, 2010 at his residence, age 68. The son of the late William and Helen (Worden) DeCatur, Gary was born July 30, 1941 in Bay City. He worked at PPG Industries and was an avid music lover. Gary is survived by his wife of 18 years, Benita (Gonzales); his children: Yvonne (Steve) Grauf of Bay City, Lori Horner and Jill (James) McDow both of Texas, Elizabeth DeCatur and Shawn Finerty of Saginaw and Marc DeCatur of Bay City; grandchildren: Jason, Brandon, Madison, Sydney, Meagan and Kailynn; a sister, Louise (Bill) Everitt of Bay City; three brothers: Bill (Marian) DeCartur of Harrison, Ron (Karen) DeCatur and Steve DeCatur both of Bay City; a sister-in-law, Mary DeCatur of Bay City; a special niece, Kristina (Andy) Crook; two special nephews, Billy DeCatur and Bobby DeCatur; his three special pets: Sophia, Chuckie and Butchie; and several other nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Gary was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Taylor Horner and Courtney Horner; and two brothers, Alan DeCatur and Robert DeCatur. The funeral service took place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at the Gephart Funeral Home. Officiating was Pastor Alan DeCatur. Private interment was in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends called at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
