Gary J. VanHoogstraten

Gary passed away Saturday, September 25, 2018. Age 70 years. The son of the late Norbert and Ardene (Hermann) Van Hoogstraten was born on January 31, 1948. Gary retired from the U.S.P.S. in 2003 after 30 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1969. He was the former state president of the Michigan Postal Workers Union and the former local president of the Saginaw retirees chapter. Gary will be missed by all of his brothers and sisters of the American Postal Workers Union.
Gary is survived by his son, Jarrod and his wife Belinda, and granddaughters Jenna and Bailey; also a son, Landon and his wife Carolyn, and granddaughters Savannah, Casanndra, and Elizabeth; one sister, Sherry Timm and her husband Joe; one niece, Tracey, and his nephew, Brad and his wife Nicole.
At the request of Mr. Van Hoogstraten cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will take place on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Do-All Activity Center. www.gephartfuneralhome.com
