Genevieve G. Peplinski

Genevieve passed away peacefully Friday, February 28, 2020 at Bay Medical Care Facility at the age of 97 years. She was born in Alpena on May 1, 1922 to the late Joseph and Antoinette (Buchokowski) Nowicki. She married Frank Peplinski Sr. "Lucky" and he preceded her in death. Together Frank and Genevieve owned and operated Lucky's Record Shop for many years. Genevieve was a member of St. Hedwig Catholic Church and was part of the League of Catholic Men and Women. She was a former member of bowling and pool leagues and enjoyed watching sports and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan.
Genevieve is survived by her daughters, Annette and Carol Mae Osborn; step children, Frank Jr., Leslie and Richard Peplinski; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother John Nowicki and sister, Marie Mayo.
At the request of Genevieve, cremation has taken place. Graveside service will take place at St. Patrick's Cemetery at a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to make a memorial contribution to Corpus Christi Parish. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the caregivers at Bay Medical Care Facility and Bay Valley House who made the final years of Genevieve's life happy and comfortable.
