Genevieve Mabel Schroer

Mrs. Schroer passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Brookdale Bay City. Age 90 years. The daughter of the late George and Armenia (Brashaw) Sharon was born July 11, 1926 in Bay City. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish-St. Vincent de Paul Church. Mrs. Schroer was a past member of the Bay City Civitan Club, Loyal Order of Moose #169 and Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #1010. She enjoyed gambling and playing bingo. Left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Linda Castillo; Michelle Hawkins and Suzanne Schroer; her grandchildren, Kevin J. Hawkins; David A. Hawkins and Kristy L. Castillo; four great grandchildren, Brittany; Blayze; Kevin Jr. and Jenna; several nieces nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Schroer; three sisters, Evelyn; Dorothy and Lillian; one brother, Peter. At the request of Mrs. Schroer cremation has taken place. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday July 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Parish-St. Vincent de Paul Church 2956 E. North Union Rd. Bay City, MI 48706. The celebrant will be Rev. Fr. John S. Sarge with private inurnment in Calvary Cemetery in Kawkawlin, MI. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday July 22, 2016 to receive family and friends from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider donations to Wishes of the Family.
