George William Miller "Worm" Bay City, Michigan Our loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who had a loving and kind sense of humor passed away peacefully Sunday morning, July 17, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his family. Age 71 years. The son of the late John J. and Albertina (Kuch) Miller was born May 13, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan. George was a devoted member of Bethel Ev. Lutheran Church and had retired from Grey Iron Foundry as a millwright after thirty eight years of services. George had a great love for nature and was an avid hunter and enjoyed a day fishing. He began planning early in the summer and looked forward to bow hunting and most of all he enjoyed the time he spent with his family. On April 28, 1979 he married his wife of thirty seven years the former Karen L. Marek in Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church and she is left to cherish his memories along with two daughters and one son-in-law; Jessica and Benjamin Schaefer of Auburn and Rachall Miller of Saginaw, two grandsons; Matthew and Joshua Schaefer, two sisters and three brothers-in-law; Evelyn and Carl Krohn, Lorraine and Otto Fluegge and Wayne Schember, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Be sides his parents John and Albertine he was preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter; Abigail Schaefer, one sister; Joanne Schember and one niece; Stephanie Maust. Funeral Services will take place Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Ev. Lutheran Church 749 N. Pine Road Essexville. Officiating will be Rev. Mark Luetzow with private inurnment in Riverside Cemetery in Elkton, Michigan. The family will be present to receive visitors at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. Mr. Miller will be taken to the church on Wednesday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to Bethel "Feed My Lambs" or the American Cancer Society. www.gephartfuneralhome.com
