Mrs. Young passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 11, 2022 in Bay City, Michigan at the age of 91. The daughter of the late Martin and Lucile (Warden) Kennedy was born January 24, 1931 in Ludington, Michigan. Georgia married the love of her life, John Young in 1951 and they celebrated 63 years of marriage. She retired from Carrollton Schools as a special education teacher, she enjoyed traveling the world with her husband, music, gardening and collecting whimsical frogs. Georgia had an immense compassion for all and always extended her love to anyone anywhere. Georgia loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, the more the merrier.
Georgia is survived by her five children, Kay (Jim) McPhee, Barb Gilson, John (Alice) Young, Deb (Kurt) Fogelsonger and Anje Young; fourteen grandchildren, Geneve (Corey), Devon, Brianne, Andrew, Tracer (Tricia), Dusty (Sean), Paige (Celso), Cody (Matt), Lane (Rebecca), Amber (Steve), Kelyn (Dave), Karly (Dustin), Forrest (Meng) and Bridger; nineteen great grandchildren, Ani, Aidan, Sean, Shea, Lilly, Hendrix, Seger, Rock, Celso Jr., Ami, Aubreigh, Caileigh, Legend, Stella, Scarlett, Lydia, Corban, Ivan and Kirby and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John in 2013; one brother, Richard Kennedy and one sister, Marcia Dittmer.

Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Corpus Christi Parish. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Jose Cabrera. Visitation will take place at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics. Private inurnment will take place at a later date in St. Patrick Cemetery.
