Gerald E. Hessler

Mr. Gerald E. 'Jerry' Hessler, of Bay City, passed away suddenly Friday, July 11, 2014 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 80 years. He was born May 26, 1934 in Elmwood, Twp., Tuscola, County. Jerry retired as a truck driver from A & C Carriers and the Teamsters Local 486. He was an avid Detroit Tiger fan and enjoyed a trip to the casino to play bingo. On October 6, 1972 he married the former Carolyn K. Zielinski and she survives his passing along with his children and their spouses; Debra (Jerome) Prusakiewicz, Perry (Julia) Hessler, Randy Hessler, Brenda (Richard) Hewgley all of Akron, Lorie (Tom) Tenerelli of Grand Blanc and Todd Hessler of Akron, Jolene (Jason) Carmona and Janelle (Mark) Cheney all of Bay City, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, two brothers and one sister-in-law; Merton Hessler, Gary (Debra) Hessler, his mother-in-law; Gloria Zielinski, one sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law; Crystal (Scott) Smith and Richard Gradowski and many nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his father; Edward Hessler, his mother; Kathryn Carson, one son; Fred Hessler, his father-in-law; Edward Zielinski, two sisters-in-law; Sandra Hessler and B. Anne Gradowski, one brother-in-law; Stephen Zielinski. Funeral Services will take place Friday, July 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Joseph Atchinson with interment following in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of service.
