Gerald Clarence Kolb "Jerry" Bay City, Michigan Mr. Kolb passed away Thursday, June 11, 2015 at his residence with his family at his side. Age 79 years. The son of the late Clarence G. and Helen M. (Draves) Kolb was born July 6, 1935 in Bay City, Michigan and has resided here all of his life. Jerry was an active and dedicated member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church and retired from Dow Chemical Company Midland Division as a research chemist. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, enjoyed golfing, was longtime Detroit Tiger Baseball fan and most of all he cherished the time he spent with his family. On June 27, 1959 he married his loving wife of 55 years the former Marilyn J. Seafert and she was left behind to cherish his memories along with three sons and three daughters-in-law; Steven and Kirsten Kolb, Kevin and Cindiann Kolb and Timothy and Elisabeth Kolb, nine grandchildren; Maekena, Haeden, Tyler, Joshua, Madison, Emerson, Justice, Micah and Emmelia, his brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Dale and Barb Kolb, Richard and Patti Kolb, Coreen and Ray Gillespie, Merrilyn and Duane Cedarblade, Louise and Frederick Jammer, Ilene Dietlein, Irene Seafert and Gloria and Earl Dietlein and many nieces and nephews cousins and friends. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law; Frank Seafert and Arthur Dietlein. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Monday, June 15, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church (210 S. Alp Bay City, Michigan 48706). Officiating will be Rev. Paul E. Schaewe and Rev. Paul E. Schweppe with private interment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mr. Kolb will be taken to the church on Monday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church General Fund.
