Gerald "Jerry" W. Neumann

Mr. Neumann passed away on Monday, January 06, 2020 at Brian's House. Age 78 years. Jerry was born to the late Joseph and Dorothy (Sebald) Neumann in Bay City, Michigan on July 17, 1941. As a child they moved to Bay City where he lived the rest of his life. Mr. Neumann was a lifelong member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church where he was baptized, confirmed and attended grade school before graduating from T.L. Handy High School in 1959. Jerry enjoyed spending time at his cottage, which he helped build as a teenager. Jerry was a proud member of the Carpenters Local 334/706 from 1964 when he started as an apprentice, then journeyman carpenter and finally Business Agent. He was also the secretary/treasurer for the Michigan District Council of Carpenters.

Jerry married Carol Royce who survives him, along with their children, Amy (Randy) Flood, and Dr. Andrew (Jeannie) Neumann. He was very proud of his family including his grandchildren, Joshua and Jeremy (Ashley) Flood, and Amanda, Andrew and Alyssa Neumann; sisters, Beverly (Jerry) Kachmeister and Janice (Butch) Langley and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his dearly loved and missed daughter, Heidi Lynn Neumann.

Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 2020 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church (706 W. Jane St., Bay City, MI  48706). Officiating will be Rev. Paul E. Schaewe with Committal following in Fremont Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mr. Neumann will be taken to the church on Friday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church or the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
