Mr. Kramer passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at McLaren Bay Region with his family at his side. Age 83 years. He was born January 26, 1929 in Bay City and has resided here all of his life. Mr. Kramer was a life long member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, served with the U.S. Navy and retired from Bay City Chevrolet as a pipefitter after thirty years of service. Mr. Kramer was a member of the Muskrat Club and the U.A.W. Local #362 . He will be remembered by his family and friends for his great woodworking skills and fishing stories. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Jerry enjoyed the time he spent at his cabin up-north, camping, working in his flower gardens and in his yard and most of all spending time with his family. On September 22, 1956 he married his wife of fifty five years, the former Barbara Bickel and she survives his passing along with three children; Sue Ellen (Don) Hopfinger of Bay City, Leeann Jacobs of Bay City and Gregory (Judy) Kramer of Gregory, MI, seven loving grandchildren; Brandon (Megan) Jacobs, Brent (Mallory) Jacobs, Brady Jacobs, Genna Hopfinger, Kelsey Hopfinger, Kyle Kramer serving with the U.S. Marines Corp. and Katie Kramer, two great grandchildren; Collin and Addyson Jacobs, one brother and two sisters-in-law; William (Louann) Kramer and Marge Kramer, 2 brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law; Don Bickel, Norma (Erv) Rytlewski, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; Alfred and Helen (Noneman) Kramer, one son-in-law; Daniel (Dipe) Jacobs, one sister and brother-in-law; Elaine (Earl) Born and one brother; Donald Kramer. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Richard Starr with private interment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Members of the Bay County Veterans Council and the United States Navy will conduct Military Honors following the services at the church. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Friday from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mr. Kramer will be taken to the church on Saturday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of service.
