Mr. LaLone passed away Sunday afternoon January 10, 2010 at Brian's House, age 70. The son of the late Walter & Beatrice (Danks) LaLone, he was born January 29, 1939 in Mio. Jerry served in the US Army for 13 years and was a member of the D.A.V. He was employed for 30 years with Bulk Transport before retiring in 2000. Jerry was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Houghton Lake and was formerly a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Throughout his life, Jerry was always active doing the Lord's work.On August 8, 1964 Jerry married Bonnie (Judy) Mansfield and she survives him along with his children, Betty Menk, husband Sigfried, of Kirch Gons Germany, Maria Rouech, husband Bill of Bay City, James LaLone (Deena Brogren) of Munger, Kristina Parker (Don Rouech) of Essexville and Steven LaLone (Jodi Sawvel) of Chesaning; 14 grandchildren, Jennifer & Sebastian Menk, Elizabeth & Will Rouech, Vicki, Jessica & Kathy LaLone, Tara, Nickolas & Zachary Parker, Olivia Rouech, Trenton & Ashton LaLone and Jarred LaLone; a great-grandchild, Trista Hubel; two sisters, Lucy Pacholka of Mio and Betty Alton of Bay City; a brother, Wes Huntley of Bay City; his 'Christian brothers', Gerhard Klemm & Larry Pack; mother-in-law, Juanita Sass; four brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law; and many nieces & nephews. Besides his parents, Jerry was also preceded in death by a son, Gerald J. LaLone, Jr. in 1990; three sisters, Lillian Marlette, Virginia Badour and Laura LaLone; and two brothers, Howard LaLone and Leonard LaLone.The funeral service will take place at 11:30am on Wednesday January 13, 2010 at Zion Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. William H. Allwardt. Graveside interment will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery followed by Military Honors conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home on Monday from 6:00 to 9:00pm and on Tuesday from 2:00 to 5:00 & 7:00 to 9:00pm. Mr. LaLone will lie in-state at the church on Wednesday from 10:30am until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Esophageal Cancer Research, Zion Lutheran Church or Brian's House.
