Geraldine Ann (Kloha) Gehringer

Geraldine passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at Covenant Hospital in Saginaw at the age of 94. She was born to the late Richard and Lydia (Beiser) Kloha on April 4, 1930 in Bay County, Michigan. She was a devoted member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Amelith and was very active in the church community. Her faith was very strong and has helped her throughout life. She worked as a bus driver for the Bay City Public Schools for many years and also helped out at the Gehringer family orchard, making pies, donuts, caramel apples and cider. She enjoyed crafting, painting many different things, doing word puzzles and going for a ride. She loved genealogy and knew so much history, you could ask her anything and she’d know the answer to it. She had a very outgoing personality and made friends anywhere she went. Most importantly, her family meant everything to her and she was very proud of them.

Geraldine is survived by her husband of 71 years, Gordon Gehringer; children, Gregg Gehringer, Grant (Debbie) Gehringer, Geoffrey (Carol) Gehringer and Gayle (Tony) Johnson; grandchildren, Nate Gehringer, Josh Gehringer, Grant Gehringer Jr., Jennifer (David) Ruehs, Eric (Lauren) Heim, Jonathan (Amanda) Gehringer, Stephanie Johnson and Matthew (McKaely) Johnson; several great grandchildren; sister-in-law’s, Barbara Keintz, Carol Gehringer and Frances Kloha and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Lucille (Maynard) Rauschert, Norma (Ronald) Peil, Eldred (Delbert) Stallings, Floyd Kloha and Carol (Loren) Appold; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Gehringer and brother-in-law, George Keintz.

Funeral service for Geraldine will take place on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Amelith with interment to follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Jerry Gauthier. The family will be present to receive visitors on Monday, December 9, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Gephart Funeral Home and on Tuesday at the Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made in Geraldine’s name to St. John’s Amelith School.
