Geraldine R. Sabias

Geraldine passed away Monday, May 20, 2019 at Mid Michigan Medical Center, Midland at the age of 92 years. She was born in Gladwin on January 19, 1927 to the late Francis and Helen (Gedney) Johnson. Geraldine met the love of her life James W. Sabias while working at Autolite/Prestolite in Bay City. They married on June 12, 1948 in Midland and spent 53 years together until he passed away on April 21, 2002. Geraldine was a member of Christian Celebration Center in Midland for many years and enjoyed photography in her spare time.
Geraldine is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Sabias; brother, Richard (Donna) Johnson; sister, Janet Athey; nephews, Jon Athey, Gary (Claire) Johnson and Kevin Johnson; niece, Susan (Carl Krach) Athey and many other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Donald Johnson.
Funeral and committal service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2019 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Pastor Don Duford with private burial in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
