Gerhardt 'Gary' O. Behmlander

Gerhardt O. Behmlander "Gary" Auburn, Michigan Mr. Behmlander passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Plainview Assisted Living in Auburn, MI at the age of 93 years. The son of the late George and Anna (Bauer) Behmlander was born February 9, 1921 in Bay City and has lived in Bay County all of his life. Gary served with the United States Navy Seabees. He attended St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Fisherville, retired from the I.B.E.W. Local 692 as an electrician after 60 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, bowling and was an avid golfer. Gary is survived by three children; Gary and Bonnie Dietlein of Bay City, Gregory and Denise Dietlein of Auburn and Lance Dietlein of Valparaiso, IN, ten grandchildren; Gary Dietlein II, Bleu and Crissy Dietlein, Tara Dietlein, Stacy and Johnny Escobedo, Danielle Dillon, Amerika Williamson, Bianca Williamson, Zachary Williamson, Tyler Dietlein and Denae Dietlein, seven great grandchildren; Gary Dietlein III, Gabriel Dietlein, Max Dietlein, Chloe Klimaszewski, Sabrina Escobedo, Kadence Dillon and Zachary Dillon, one great great grandchild; Azaelia Escabedo and many nieces and nephews. On June 23, 1978 he married Lorraine A. (Dietlein) and she preceded him in death on March 24, 2012. He was also preceded in death by four sisters; Wanita Ziegler, Julia Bondy, Matilda Couture and Ruth Adeline Schwab, four brothers; Erwin, Ernest, Otto, August and Alfred Behmlander, and a grandson, Sean Dietlein. A Memorial Service will take place Friday afternoon, February 21, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. Thomas Sutton. At the request of Mr. Behmlander, cremation has taken place. The family will be present at the funeral home on Friday to receive visitors from 1:30 p.m. and until the time of service.
