Germaine passed away Friday, November 6, 2020 at Auburn Heights Senior Care at the age of 96. She was born in Bay City on August 25, 1924 to the late Frank and Blanche (Kotewa) Stein. Germaine married Ted J. Wawrzyniak on July 5, 1947 at Holy Trinity Church. They were married for 61 years until he passed away on December 19, 2009. She worked for many years at Michigan Bell and was a longtime member of Corpus Christi Parish, the Pioneers and the Lady Elks. In her spare time she enjoyed cross stitching, gardening in her flower gardens and spending time with her grandchildren whom she adored.
Germaine is survived by her daughter, Susan (Ronald) Fisher of Saginaw; grandsons, Ryan L. of Ann Arbor and Chad M (Kassi) of Bay City; great granddaughter, Morgan Fisher and step great granddaughter, Madisyn. Special thanks to Ken and Gloria Kalinowski along with their dog Vivian for their many visits with mom.
At the request of Germaine cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Corpus Christi Parish. The Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Robert J. Kelm with inurnment in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. We are currently still under the governor's executive order of social distancing. You may experience a wait while paying your respects, face coverings must be worn.
