Mr. Gilbert "Tom" Fick, of Bay City, passed away Tuesday evening, December 10, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was 76. The son of the late Carl & Frieda (Draves) Fick, he was born March 21, 1937 in Bay City. On June 8, 1957 Tom married the former Joan V. St. Peter and she survives him. He retired as a supervisor from Bay City Powertrain. Tom was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and bowling but more than anything Tom loved spending time with his family. Mr. Fick is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joan Fick; their four children, Christopher (Mary) Fick, Gregory Fick and his life partner Mary Goddard, Lisa Wajer and Rick Ruiz, and Stacey (Chuck) Christopherson; six grandchildren, Rachael Fick, Jenna Fletcher Fick, Sarah Fick, Aaron Wajer, Chris Fick and Brittany Christopherson; seven great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Austin, Brianna, Adam, Ashlyn, Hunter and Brooklyn; a sister, Gloria (Jim) Kujawa; four brothers, Clifford (Rita) Fick, Clarence (Elaine) Fick, Harvey (Betty) Fick and Ray (Sue) Fick; a brother-in-law, Bill (Bonnie) St. Peter; a special family friend, Daryl Haberland; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides his parents, Tom was also preceded in death by a brother, Earl (Mary) Fick; and a sister, Irene (Jerry) Shute. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to McLaren Hospice and an extra thanks to Lisa for the wonderful care that was given to Tom. The Funeral Service will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Faith Lutheran Church, 3033 Wilder Road. Officiating will be Rev. William H. Allwardt with interment following at Calvary Cemetery in Kawkawlin. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mr. Fick will lie instate at the church on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family for a designation to be determined later.
