Gisela Schoenfeld

Our loving mother and "Oma" passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Sheffield Bay. Age 92 years. The daughter of the late Georg and Anna (Bader) Keller was born May 7, 1926 in Voehringen, Germany. Mrs. Schoenfeld was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish for 46 years. She enjoyed cooking for her family, crocheting, reading, baking German Christmas cookies and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Mrs. Schoenfeld enjoyed helping others and was a generous person with her time, talent and treasure.

Mrs. Schoenfeld is survived by two daughters, Ulrike (Mark) Smith and Sabine (Mark) Vogel; two grandchildren, Rebecca Vogel and David Vogel. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Helmut Schoenfeld who passed away in 2005 after 52 years of marriage.

Gisela's family would like to thank the kind and loving caregivers at Sheffield Bay for making her time there so blessed. She loved being at a safe place where everyone knew her name.

Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 14, 2019 at St. Catherine of Siena Parish. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. John S. Sarge with Rite of Committal following in St. Patrick Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home on Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Mrs. Schoenfeld will be taken to the church on Monday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Memorial contributions for the wishes of the family will be available at the funeral home.
