Mrs. Bair passed away on the morning of August 19, 2017 at her residence at Sheffield Bay. Age 88 years. Gladis was born on February 14, 1929 in Bay City to the late Roy and Gertrude (Eichinger) Toland. Gladis worked for over fifty years at the John W. Putz Hardware, Inc. as the bookkeeper. She was also very active in the Trinity Lutheran Ladies Aid. Mrs. Bair is survived by her daughters, Karin (Ralph) Youngblood and Barbara Crow; grandchildren Amie (Jeff) French, Stacie (Ben) Stephens and Jeremy Crow; great grandchildren, Derek Arndt, Colby French, Spencer and Evan Stephens; nieces and nephews, Lou (Judy) Dicks, Michele (Mort Hyslop) Hughes, Blair (Mary) Hughes and Laurie (Kevin) Konarska; cousin, Shirley Notter. In addition to her parents, Gladis was also preceded in death by her first husband, Clyde Kerkau; second husband William Bair; brothers, Norman and William Toland; sister, Lillian Lawrence; sister-in-law, Elaine Hughes and cousin, Ireene Edwards. Per her wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place on Saturday September 9, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. with Rande LaPrairie officiating. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
