Hayes, Goldie Joann Bay City, Michigan Goldie passed away Monday, December 19, 2011 at Brian's House. Age 77 years. The daughter of the late William and Charlotte (Chapman) Rye was born August 17, 1934 in Bay City. She was formerly employed at Wenona Beach Trailer Park as park manager, worked at Do All Inc. and Williams Cheese. Goldie enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchild they were the light of her life. She also enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, crocheting and making ceramics. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Wendy and Steve Blackwell, Jamie and Kerry Schweinsberg and Morgan and Joann Hayes, fifteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, two sisters; Margaret "Petey" Webber and Nina Guindon, one brother; William Rye, her special sister-in-law; Marion Poineau, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her daughter; Charlotte "Scotty" Kolka, her ex-husband; Morgan Hayes, her nephews; Denny Webber and Kenny Guindon, her brothers-in-law; Ken Guindon and William Webber. The family would like to extend a special Thank you to Bay Shores Nursing Home and Brian's House for the kind and compassionate care our loved one received during her time of need. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 12:00 o'clock Noon at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Sister Mary Epple with interment following in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorial cards for Brian's House will be available at the funeral home.
