Grace E. Hodge

Grace passed away early, Thursday morning, March 27, 2014 at Bay Shores Nursing Home at the age of 96 years. The daughter of the late Paul and Anne (Bammel) Schabel was born August 3, 1917 in Munger MI. Grace was a member of St. Mary the Assumption Catholic Church, the Altar Society and the St. Anthony's Circle. Left behind to cherish her memory is two daughters; Ann (Robert) Hockman and Katie Hodge, two granddaughters; Elizabeth (Jeremy) Peterson, Claire (Mark) Thurbush, her great grandchildren; Marin, Brynn, Grant, Reid and Blaine and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband; Horace Hodge in 1978, two brothers; Clifford Schabel and Norbert Schabel, two sisters-in-law; Gladys Schabel and Shirley Leibrand.
At Grace's request cremation has taken place. A Memorial Liturgy will take place Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary the Assumption Catholic Church. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. Patrick M. Jankowiak with private inurnment in St. Patrick's Cemetery. The family will be present at the church on Tuesday to receive family and friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
