Our loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother Grace passed away Thursday, July 30, 2020 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 84 years. Grace was born in Bay City on September 2, 1935 to the late Charles and Genevieve (Wojtas) Rakovich. She married Aloysius "Jack" Karamol on June 9, 1956 and he passed away on February 25, 2018 after 61 years of marriage. Grace was a member of Corpus Christi Parish and was very involved with her parish community. She was a member of the altar sodality, church choir and worked as secretary at Holy Trinity School, religious ed and CSA. She also worked at SS Kresge, was a part of the Marriage Encounter and the ABWA. In her spare time she enjoyed polka dancing, going to the casino, reading, crocheting, playing cards, BINGO and Wii Bowling. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren as they were the light of her life.
Surviving are her children, Susan (Jay) Wright, Jeffrey (Beckey) Karamol and Kathleen (Kent) Holsing; grandchildren, Andrew (Jelina) Wright, Kristen (Mike) LaFramboise, Michael (fiancee Emily Barber) and Sara Wright, Alexandra (David) Collier, Cynthia Karamol, Jordan, Jared and Jacob Holsing; great grandchildren, Charlotte Grace and Griffin LaFramboise and Zander Wright; nieces, Lauren Halstead and Lisa Pietrowski and their families; nephew, Willam Musolf. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her sisters and brother, Rose Marie Musolf, Joyce Rakovich and John Rakovich.
The Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Corpus Christi Parish - Holy Trinity Church. The Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Robert J. Kelm with the Rite of Committal following at St. Patrick's Cemetery. Friends may visit at Corpus Christi Parish on Monday from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. Per the Governor's orders, social distancing and face masks must be worn inside the church. Mrs. Karamol will be taken to the church on Tuesday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to make a memorial contribution to Corpus Christi Parish.
