Grace M. Zielinski

Grace Zielinski of Bay City passed into heaven on Thursday, February, 25, 2016 at home in the care of her loving family and Hartland Hospice. Grace was born on December 16, 1921 the daughter of William (Bill) and Ida Neumeyer of Bay City. Grace was the wife of Richard J. Zielinski, who preceded her in death in 2006, and brother of Roy (Joe) Neumeyer, who died in 1989. Grace and Richard were both residents of Bay City their entire lives except for seven years when they lived in Alpena, MI. Following a short time working at the Autolite company after graduating from Bay City Central High School where she met Dick, she was a fulltime wife and mother raising four children: Bonnie (Skip) Randall of Bay City, Randy (Carolyn) Zielinski of De Pere, WI, Roy (Donna) Zielinski of Taylors, SC and Joy Ittner of Ft. Wayne, IN. Grace was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and School and coached the girls' basketball team for Zion Lutheran School for a number of years. She is survived by the four children, 8 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of Hartland Hospice and especially Jennifer and Carlean for the assistance in granting Mom's wish of remaining in her home for her passing. Memorials can be given to "Worship for Shut-Ins" Lutheran Ministries Media, Inc. in Ft. Wayne, IN "Jesus said, 'I am the resurrection and life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.'" (John 11:25-26). Funeral and Committal Services for Grace will be held at Zion Lutheran Church on Monday, February 29, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Officiating will be Rev. William H. Allwardt and Rev. Phillip Zielinski with private interment in Floral Gardens Cemetery.
