Greg passed away peacefully at his residence in Bay City, Michigan on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at the age of 71. He was born on May 6, 1952 in Bay City, Michigan to the late George and Laura (Vaughn) Kruchkow. He served in the United States Navy from 1971 to 1976 and received the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, classic rock, motorcycles and watching the Tigers. He was funny, quick witted and a simple man. He was kind and cared about his family.
Greg is survived by his sons, Jeff Kruchkow and Nicholas (Rebecca) Kruchkow; grandchildren, Jonas, Anthony, Jordan, Bryce and Macy; great grandchildren, Ryan, Violet and Max; sister, Patricia Behmlander; brother, George Kruchkow; several nieces and nephews and mother of Jeff, Karen Savage. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Nona and Judy; brother, Fred; brother-in-law, Lee Behmlander; sister-in-law, Diane Kruchkow and mother of Nicholas, Debra Anczewski.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to his caregivers at Cornerstone over the last year and the nurses at Americans Home Health and Hospice Care.
Memorial visitation for Greg will take place on Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home. Military Honors and interment will take place on Saturday at 2:15 p.m. at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Bay County Humane Society or the United States Navy Memorial located at 701 Pennsylvania Ave N.W., Washington D.C. 20004.
