Mr. Parker passed away peacefully Sunday evening, June 18, 2017. Age 88 years. The son of the late John and Ida (Irving) Parker was born July 27, 1928 in Bay City, MI. He was a long time member and usher at Visitation Catholic Church and was a current member of Our Lady of Peace Parish-St. Mary's Church. Mr. Parker retired from G.M. Powertrain Bay City Plant as a machine repairman and was a member of UAW Local 362. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus #414. He enjoyed going deer hunting and was a Detroit Tiger baseball fan. Mr. Parker proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during W.W. II. Left to cherish his memories are his children and their spouses, M.J. Parker, Michael and Arlene Parker, Mark Parker, Marcie and Frank Bryden III; four grandchildren, Graham Parker, Taylor Parker, Christine Bryden and Samantha Neitzel; one sister, Virginia Mae Guinther; one brother, Gerald Parker. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Parker; three brothers, Kenneth, John and William Parker; one sister, Marie Fulco. The Funeral Liturgy and Rite of Committal will be celebrated Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Parish- St. Mary's Church. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. Patrick M. Jankowiak followed by Military Honor's conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council. Private interment will take place in Floral Gardens Cemetery. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday to receive family and friends from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Parker will be taken to the church on Thursday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
