Tiitola, Hannu Matti Bay City, Michigan Mr. Tiitola passed away Saturday evening November 6, 2010 after a short stay at Brian's House. Age 64 years. He was born on July 14, 1946 in Upslea, Sweden. Hannu was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Past President and member of the Bay City Lions Club, B.P.O.E. Lodge 88 where he served as past Exalted Ruler, a member of the Knights of Columbus # 414, the Bishop Murphy Assembly 4th Degree and the Bay City Historical Society. On January 31, 1969 he married the former Janice "Jan" Kay Campbell in St. Joseph Catholic Church and she survives his passing along with three children and their spouses; Timo and Shelly Tiitola, Liisa and Nathan Pembroke and Beth and Bryan Russell, four grandchildren; Dylan Pembroke, Greysen Pembroke, Hunter Tiitola and Kennady Tiitola, one sister and brother-in-law; Maria and Risto Puhakka, one brother and sister-in-law; Tuomas and Kaarina Tiitola, his mother-in-law; Georgianna (GG)Campbell, brothers-in-laws, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Timo and Salme (Kuuloga) Tiitola and his father-in-law; LeRoy Campbell. The Funeral Liturgy will take place Friday, November 12, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Craig L Albrecht with a private family Rite of Committal at Calvary Cemetery in Kawkawlin. At the request of Mr. Tiitola cremation has taken place. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Thursday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. and until the time of the Mass. Members of the Bay City Lions Club meet at the funeral home on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. for a memorial service followed by the Lodge of Sorrow conducted by the B.P.O.E. Lodge #88. At 7:30 p.m. members of the Knights of Columbus #414 will meet at the funeral home for the Bible Presentation and the Chalice Presentation followed by the Vigil for the Deceased. In lieu of flowers memorial cards for Brian's House or the donor's favorite charity will be available at the funeral home.
