Harold C. Appold

Mr. Appold, loving and faithful husband, father, grandfather, and servant, joined his heavenly Father on Monday evening, April 13, 2015. The son of the late Benjamin & Ellenora (Hoerauf) Appold was born September 4, 1934 in Frankenlust Township. Harold was a life-long member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust, where he served on numerous committees and boards, plus sang in the church choir. Harold retired from GM Saginaw Steering Gear (Nexteer) and also served with the National Guard of the State of Michigan. Although Harold enjoyed many sports, outdoor activities, and woodworking, he valued most his God and his family. Harold is survived by his wife of 55 years Mary Lou (nee Bellhorn) Appold; three children Elizabeth (Greg) Stone, Michael (Cindy) Appold, and Penny (Michael) Pfeiffer; and grandchildren Stephanie (Ben) Marsh, Jaclyn Stone, Benjamin M. Appold, Holly Appold, Ian Appold, Julianna Pfeiffer, Samuel Pfeiffer, and David Pfeiffer. He also is survived by brothers and a sister: Robert Appold, Wilma Zeilinger, Floyd (Julia) Appold; sister-in-law Marilyn Appold; plus brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws: Edward (Pearl) Bellhorn, Jean Appold, Charles Bellhorn, and Raymond (Linda) Bellhorn. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his father & mother-in-law Carl & Louise Bellhorn, and by numerous brothers, sisters, and in-laws: Edwin & Malinda Appold, Matilda & Gerhardt Zeilinger, Ralph Appold, Alice Appold, Loren & Carol Appold, Ernest Zeilinger, Eldor Appold, and Mary Bellhorn. Funeral Services will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2015 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust. Officiating will be Rev. Paul D. Theiss with interment following in the St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation at the Gephart Funeral Home in Bay City will be on Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mr. Appold will lie instate at the church on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials for the St. Paul Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, or the St. Paul Lutheran Church Endowment Fund, will be available at the funeral home. www.gephartfuneralhome.com
