Harold H. Doorn

Doorn, Harold H. Bay City, Michigan Mr. Doorn passed away Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the Bay Medical Care Facility. Age 84 years. The son of the late Andrew and Edna (Wiersma) Doorn was born August 30, 1927 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Harold was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and enjoyed country western music, square dancing, RV'ing, wintering in the south and spending time with family and friends. Mr. Doorn is survived by his wife, Ruth A. Doorn whom he married September 27, 1947, two children, Paul (Beth) Doorn and Sherry Mitchell (Ron Lesniak); two grandchildren, Jason (Darcy) Mitchell and Jamie Doorn; one great grandson, Bryce Mitchell and several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Harold was also preceded in death by one brother, Sonny. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Bay Medical Care Facility for their compassion and care. At the request of Mr. Doorn cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 23, 2012 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. William H. Allwardt. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of services. In lieu of flowers memorial cards for Zion Lutheran Church or St. Jude's Children's Hospital will be available at the funeral home.
