Harold M. Haviland Bay City, MI Formerly of Livingston County, MI Mr. Haviland passed away Wednesday November 14, 2012 at The Carriage House of Bay City, age 97. The son of the late D.A. & Jessie Leona (Prosser) Haviland, he was born February 18, 1915 in Livingston County. Harold served with the U.S. Navy Seabees during WWII and helped construct the U.S. airstrips on Tinian Island. He was a bus driver for the D.S.R. City of Detroit and then retired as an inspector from Detroit Transmission. On October 11, 1946 Harold married the former Virginia R. Burgess and she survives him along with their daughter and son-in-law, Janet I. & John P. Leitner of Bay City; three grandchildren, Julie (Bob) Haskell of Cumming, GA, Jolene (Jim) Alaniz of Livonia and Jonathan (Christina) Leitner of Cumming, GA; 12 great-grandchildren, Ryan and Tyler Haskell, Madison and Jadyn LaPree, Alexandra, Emmanuel, Mackenzie and Zachary Alaniz, and Grace, Annalise, Lily and Trinlee Leitner; and two brothers, Gerald (Shirley) Haviland of Caryville, FL and Dale (Nancy) Haviland of Brighton. Cremation has taken place and burial with military honors will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.
