Leinberger, Harold F. Bay City, Michigan Harold passed away Monday, February 28, 2011 at Hoyt Nursing Home in Saginaw. The son of the late Conrad and Emilia (Gerhauser) Leinberger was born December 29, 1917 in Bay County. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Harold was retired as a farmer and also retired from Monitor Sugar Company where he worked as a boiler house fireman. The Leinbergers were long time foster parents with the Lutheran Child and Family Services, he had a great passion for farming, perch fishing on the Saginaw Bay and whitefish fishing in Canada, deer hunting and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife the former Harriet C. Foerster whom he married October 26, 1941. Also surviving are his children and their spouses; Tom and Deana Leinberger of Freeland, MI, Bonnie and Dick Frank of Auburn, MI, Betty and Roger Brown of Sandusky, MI, Carolyn and Rev. Jack Fish of Twin Lakes, WI, and Dale and Janet Leinberger of Bay City, MI, his grandchildren; Brad and Zach Leinberger, Christine Smith, Donald Frank, David and Matthew Brown, Becky Zuardo, Jon Fish, Sarah Duffy, Abbe Adair, Maggie Burrow and Chelsea Leinberger, twenty four great grandchildren, one sister; Lorena Stefaniak. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two brothers; Erwin and Edgar Leinberger. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Friday, March 4, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church (510 W. Ivy St., Bay City, MI 48706). Officiating will be Rev. William H. Allwardt with private interment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mr. Leinberger will be taken to the church on Friday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorial Cards for Zion Lutheran Church or Lutheran Child and Family Services will be available at the funeral home.
