Harry Shorkey

Harry passed away Thursday, December 19, 2019 at his residence with his family by his side, at the age of 85 year. The son of the late Henry and Mary (Faustin) was born November 14, 1934 in Bay City, Michigan. Harry was a member of the former Our Lady of Visitation Catholic Church and a current member of Our Lady of Peace Parish. He retired from Bay City Electric Light & Power as a line foreman after 38 years of service. Harry served his country in the National Guard. He enjoyed carving and painting, but especially enjoyed carving walking sticks; he also enjoyed hunting, playing blooper ball and spending time with family.
Left behind to cherish his memories is his wife the former Deloris J. Stneski whom he married February14, 1955, one daughter, Debra Lynn Shorkey; two sons, James A. Shorkey and Michael J. Shorkey; his grandchildren, Laken (Greg) Hadd, Erika (Andrew) Kietzman and Adriane (Michael) Lombardo; two great grandchildren, Josie and Fiona  Kietzman and expecting the third great grandchild any day now, his sister-in-law and two brothers-in-laws, several nieces and nephews, his close friend, Leo Matthews. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two infant daughters, his daughter-in-law, Gail Shorkey; 9 brothers and 3 sisters.
Private Family Visitation will take place at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. and Private graveside services will take place at St. Patrick's Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider donations to Multiple Sclerosis Society or the American Cancer Society.
