Hayden R. Pierson

Pierson, Hayden R. Bay City, Michigan Hayden passed away Thursday, March 24, 2011 at Bay Medical Care Facility. Age 86 years. The son of the late Harry and Esther Pierson was born October 31, 1924 in Bay City. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. Hayden owned and operated Pierson's Service on Henry Street for many years. He served in the U. S. Army during W.W. II with Company L 143d Infantry Regiment as a Master Sergeant and received the Silver and Bronze Stars. He is survived by his beloved wife the former Patricia A. O'Brien whom he married November 30, 1968. Also surviving are his children and their spouses; Robert and Bette Pierson, Laura and Reginald Meirlaen, Barbara and Thomas Petee, Michael Knoll, Karen and Eric Scher and John and Katherine Knoll, his grandchildren; Audra, Jeffrey, Angela, Gregory, Ashley, Amy, Chris, James, Jessica, Zachary, Arden and Ava, his great grandchildren: Amelia, Kaden and Emmett, one sister and brother-in-law: Marlene and Herb Willard, one brother and sister-in-law: Harlan and Linda Pierson. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his first wife: Audrey Pierson, one sister: Elaine Lynch, two brothers: Harold and Howard Pierson. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Monday, March 28, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. followed by Military Honor's conducted by the Bay County Veteran's Council. Officiating will be Rev. Anthony N. Cutting with cremation following. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 12:00 O'clock Noon until the time of services.
