Helen passed away on November 27, 2018. Age 88 years. A lifelong resident of Bay County, Helen was born on April 28, 1930 the eldest daughter of the late Robert and Marguerite (Maxwell) Donnelley. On January 22, 1949, she married Lawrence Peterson. In 1972 she went to work for GM retiring after 23 years. After her retirement she worked as a noon aide at McAlear Sawden School for many years, where she was known as Ms. Helen. The most important things in her life were her family, her friends and her faith. She loved traveling, movies, going to casinos, and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of St. Albans Episcopal Church, Fraternal Order of the Eagles Auxiliary #1010, The Edison Girls, Monitor Township softball and numerous other community groups throughout the years. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Surviving are her three sons, Danny (Kitti) Peterson, Larry (Virginia) Peterson and Kim (Lori) Peterson; son-in-law, Bill Charbonneau; sister, Florence (Jack) Reynolds; brother, Herbert Donnelly and sister-in-law, Kay Dummeldinger; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Larry; son, Michael Peterson; daughter, Shelley Charbonneau; brother, Robert and sister-in-law, Josiane Donnelly; brother-in-law, John Dummeldinger; sister-in-law, Patricia Donnelly and very special friend, Arthur Sohacki.
Funeral and Committal service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be The Rev. Nancy Mayhew with private interment following in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home on Monday from 12:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial cards for the wishes of the family will be available at the funeral home.
