Helen Lucille Strawn

Strawn, Helen Lucille Ocala, Florida Formerly of Bay City Mrs. Strawn passed away Thursday, September 24, 2015 at her residence in Ocala, Florida, age 89 years. The daughter of the late Albert and Genevieve (Lowman) Dykes was born February 8, 1926 in Mitchell, South Dakota. Mrs. Strawn was a former member of Faith Lutheran Church where she was a teacher for 21 years. She loved cars, camping, cruises and going to the casino. Mrs. Strawn is survived by one son, Larry (Lynn) Strawn; three grandchildren, Kendra, Brooke and Mason Strawn; one sister, Connie (Edmund) Coyer; one dear niece, Susie Selves; many other nieces and nephews and her special friends, Richard Rickert, Olive "Tootie" Snow and Joan Gesquiere. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Strawn who passed away on December 4, 1982; five brothers and sisters, Thomas Dykes, Jean Jones, David Dykes, Elbert Dykes and Mary Jacobs. At the request of Mrs. Strawn cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Faith Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Daniel C. Meckes. Friends may call at Faith Lutheran Church on Tuesday from 3:30 p.m. and until the time of services.
