Mr. Hilmer J. Everson, of Bay City, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013 at his residence at the age of 94 years. The son of the late Roland and Mae (Peters) Everson was born April 3, 1919. He retired from Dow Corning maintenance dept. Mr. Everson enjoyed fishing, hunting, dancing and attending Army reunions. He served with the U.S. Army during W.W. II. He survived by his wife the former Caroline Kreger whom he married September 28, 1991. Also surviving are one daughter; Susan Everson of Traverse City, two sons and their spouses; Bruce and Heidi Everson of Almonte Springs, FL, Chris and Rhonda Everson of Bay City, two grandchildren; Jennifer and her husband Chris and Nicholas, two great grandchildren, one brother; Clayton Everson. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his first wife; Violet Everson whom passed away March 9, 1990, his sisters; Cleora Dee, Thelma Jackson, Eunice Wilson and Rita Everson, his brother; Gerald Everson. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Monday April 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Joseph Atchinson followed by Military Honors conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council. Private interment will take place in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorial Cards for the Bay County Humane Society or the Bay County Veterans Council will be available at the funeral home.
