Adams, Homer David Sr. Bay City, Michigan Mr. Adams died early Monday morning August 19, 2013 at Medilodge of Sterling. Age 84 years. He was born November 24, 1928 in Gordonville, Michigan, then moved to Sandtown/Curtis, Michigan and resided in Bay City since 1968. He worked as a backhoe operator, retired as a Mason Contractor, enjoyed working on cars and fixing things. Homer was involved in building I-75 freeway, Mackinaw Bridge and grew up on a farm and was involved in paving the runways at O'Hare International Airport. He enjoyed spending time the Upper Peninsula and served in the United States Air Force. He helped integrate the military during Harry S. Truman's term. He is survived by one son; Homer D. Adams Jr., two sisters-in-law; Lucy May Gaffey and Laura Lee O'Connell, three brothers-in-law; James, Morris and Mike Clement and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; Maybelle Adams on June 29, 1999, his parents; Chris and Mary Adams, one brother; William Adams and his half sister. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Friday August 23, 2013 from 9:00 to 1:00 p.m. Funeral Services will take place at 11:00 a.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday followed by Military Honors. Memorial cards for the Wishes of the Family will be available at the funeral home.
