Howard passed away on the afternoon of Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Close To Home at the age of 88 years. Howard was born on May 11, 1929 in Gilford Township, Michigan to the late Raymond and Jessie (Miller) Grew. He married the former Elaine Obermiller and together owned and operated the Country Store Antique in Munger and The Avenue Lunch. He also worked for Grey Iron Foundry retiring in 1985. Howard enjoyed playing Bingo, going to rummage sales and especially loved his animals.
Surviving are his children, Bonnie(Gary) Volz, Judy (Sam)Ruegsegger, Diane (Gary) Koch, Pat (John) Kerkau and Michelle (Dan) Yagiela; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Louie Grew; sister, Mary DeCatur; many nieces and nephews; daughters-in-law, Eileen and Mary Grew; sisters-in-law, Kathleen Masters, Karen Gorski, Kay Obermiller and Janice (Ray) Jacobs. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Elaine; sons, Ronald and Donald; brothers, Chester and Johnny and sister, Evelyn Sampson.
Howard's funeral service will take place at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 with Rev. Joseph Atchinson officiating. Interment will follow in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial contribution to Southern Care Hospice or the Bay County Humane Society.
