Irene R. "Boots' Keit

Mrs. Keit passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 91. The daughter of the late Alex and Rose (Skrzypczak) Buczek was born April 23, 1922 in Bay City. She was a member of St. Hedwig Catholic Church, the Kiesel Pearl, the Daughters of Isabella and the League of Catholic Men and Women. Mrs. Keit was the former owner of Keit's Greenhouse and Floral Center where she continued to work making all the bows for the greenhouse. In her free time she enjoyed going on trips to the casino and playing cards. Left behind to cherish her memories are her children and their spouses; Martin and Char Keit, Roger Keit, Mary Ann and Tom Corbett, Rosalie Wescott, Ed and Sherry Keit, Rob and Deb Keit, Barb and David Nelsen, her grandchildren; Sean, Meghann, Darcey, Todd, Bryan, Kristin, Dawn, Brandon, Jason, Adam, Laura, Tyler, Alex, Shannon, Kathryn, Sarah, Nathan and Alesha, nineteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; four sisters in law; Ethel (Gil) Ortinau, Marie Kaczmarek, Madeline (Marion) Sielinski and Irene Mindykowski, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Edward J. Keit, one-son-in-law; Lew "Wayne" Wescott, two daughters-in-law; Sharon Keit and Lois Keit, two brothers; Leonard Buczek and Robert Buczek, and two sisters; Dorothy Kubasiak and Marie Daly. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 10, 2014 at St. Hedwig Catholic Church. The celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Kevin Kerbawy with the Rite of Committal following at Oakwood Mausoleum in Saginaw. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Saturday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Keit will be taken to the church on Monday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass.
