Irene passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at the Carriage House in Bay City at the age of 91 years. Irene was born on October 2, 1926 in Bay City to the late Martin and Mary (Janowiak) Keit. She married Eugene C. Mindykowski on February 5, 1948 in Bay City and he preceded her in death on March 6, 1973. She was a long time member of St. Hedwig Catholic church and the former co-owner of Keits Flower Shop. In her spare time she enjoyed horseback riding, raising dogs, gardening, traveling, dancing, playing smear and golfing. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, cooking family meals, going on family vacations and having family parties.
Surviving are her children, Barbara and Bob Reou, Diane Mindy-Briggs (Michael Holsapple), Rick and Laury Mindykowski, Mary and Ron Ahrens, Randy and Sally Mindykowski, Joan and Bob Klenk and Ron Mindykowski (Kelly Coates); grandchildren, Ronnie (Shannon), Elizabeth and Steven Ahrens, Anna (Ben) Woods, Jenna (Ted Lind) Briggs, Jennifer and Bobby Klenk, Joel and Carly Mindykowski and Jacob and Jesse (Jill) Mindykowski; eight great grandchildren; sisters, Marie Kaczmarek and Madeline Sielinski; many nieces and nephews; close special friends who's company she appreciated and enjoyed. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Edward and Martin Keit, brothers-in-law, Leo Kaczmarek, Marion Sielinski, Chet, Cassy and Ray Mindykowski and Gene Buzalski; sisters-in-law, Bootsie Keit, Mary Buzalski, Esther Stasyak, Lorraine and Christine Mindykowski.
Memorial Mass will take place on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 12:00 Noon at Corpus Christi Parish-St. Hedwig Church. Entombment has taken place at Oakwood Mausoleum. The Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Robert J. Kelm. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to make a memorial contribution to the wishes of the family.
