Mr. Jack W. Ranous, of Saginaw, passed away early Sunday morning, September 8, 2013 at Edgewood Assisted Living Center in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 92 years. He was born on March 17, 1921 in Saginaw, Michigan and has resided here all of his life. His entire working career was with Mitts & Merrill Corporation, where he retired in 1982 as President. On February 14, 1942 he married the former Norma Eileen Bennett of West Branch, Michigan in Wauseon, Ohio and she survives his passing along with one son and daughter-in-law; Jack Michael and Kit Ranous, one daughter and one son-in-law; Sheila Louise and Andrew Sparkes both of Saginaw Township, five grandchildren; Christopher Gilbert of Saginaw; Jon (Bethann) Ranous of St. Paris, Ohio; Carrie (Ali) Al-Nawees of Saginaw; Christy (William) Harvey of Buchanan, Michigan; Greg (Krista) Ranous of South Bend, Indiana and one step-granddaughter; Andrea (James) Beecher of Gladwin, Michigan, 13 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren, five step great grandchildren; one brother-in-law; Robert Bennett of Hebron, Ohio, his dear friend and hunting partner; Bill LaBrake, plus several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; Charles W. and Carrie P. (Vickery) Ranous; two sisters; Jeannette and Bessie, three brothers-in-law; Robert Woodward, John Roger Bennett and Harve Bennett, two sisters-in-law; Vivienne Bennett and Beverly Bennett. The family would like to extend a special "Thanks" to the staff at Edgewood Assisted Living and Gentiva Hospice for the excellent care they provided. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Wednesday September 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Snow Funeral Home, Inc. 3775 N. Center, Saginaw, Michigan. Officiating will be his grandson; Rev. Jon M. Ranous with private Entombment in Oakwood Memorial Mausoleum in Saginaw. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of service.
