Mr. Jack H. Wetters, of Bay City, passed away Thursday afternoon July 25, 2013 at his residence. Age 79 years. He was born November 16, 1933 to the late John H. and Alice M. (Moeller) Wetters in Bay City and has resided here all of his life. He was a member of St. Bartholomew Ev. Lutheran Church, the United Steel Workers Local #12075 in Midland and retired from Dow Chemical Company as an electrician after forty years of service. Jack proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling with his family and friends and enjoyed an occasional drive up north. Jack is survived by three children; John Wetters of Bay City, Alice (Jim) Curphy of Kawkawlin and Derrick (Peggy) Wetters of Bay City, four grandchildren; Hollie, Amber, Jamie and Aaron, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; John "Jay" C. Bourne, Gary and Phyllis Peil, Carl Peil, Janet and Glen King, Elaine and Gary Voss, Tim and Pat Peil and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. On February 13, 1958 he married the former Nancy L. Peil and she preceded him in death on June 20, 2001. Jack was also preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law; Godfrey and Lila (Maxson) Peil, a sister; Mildred Bourne, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Ron and Norma Peil, Jim and Dawn Peil, Marge Peil, Lila Sue Thorp and Karen Peil. A Memorial Service will take place Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bartholomew Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Larry Seafert. Members of the Bay County Veterans Council will conduct Military Honors following the service. At the request of Mr. Wetters Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. The family will be present at the church on Saturday to greet family and friends from 9:30 a.m. and until the time of service. Memorial contributions for St. Bartholomew Ev. Lutheran Church or Santa House will be available.
