Jackie passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at New Hope Bay Assisted Living at the age of 90. The daughter of the late Ned and Dorothy (Yonka) Senn was born April 2, 1933 in Bay City, Michigan. Jac was a founding member of Faith Lutheran Church, belonged to the Parish Service Guild and she and her husband were also members of the couple’s club;) She enjoyed sewing, painting, golfing, cooking, camping and traveling. She graduated from T.L. Handy High School and attended Bay City Junior College and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi. Jac was formerly employed in the administrative section at NewCor Corporation in Bay City. She also worked in DC where she held Top-Secret Security Clearance. She was a member of the “Lunch Bunch” for over 40 years, where she would get together with friends she made over the years. She and her husband spent several years as snowbirds in Mesa, Arizona.
Jackie is survived by her daughter, Holly (Douglas) Hartz; sons, Jeffrey (Teresa) Seidel and David (Amy) Seidel; grandchildren, Dustin Hartz, Kaitlin (Luke) McDaniel, Jacob (Leah) Seidel, Emma Seidel (Brennan Williams), Nicholas Seidel and Maxwell Seidel; great grandchildren, Jonah and Luna Hartz, Amelia McDaniel, one great granddaughter just around the corner and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald W. Seidel, whom she married on June 20, 1953 at West Baptist Church, one son, Scott Alan Seidel; brother, Keith and Rita Senn; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gerald and Harriet Laetz.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at New Hope Bay Assisted Living and Cardinal Hospice as they have all given exceptional care to mom.
Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 21, 2023 at Faith Lutheran Church with interment to follow at Floral Gardens Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Steven Thiel. Visiting will take place on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at the Gephart Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Monday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church.
