James 'Jim' Edward Alarie, a life-long resident of Bay City, died in Bradenton Florida, November 15, 2010 at the age of 84. James was born April 26, 1926 in Bay City to Harry and Bernice Alarie. Three brothers Thomas, John and William all predeceased him. He married Jean Hamme in 1953; she passed away in March, 2001. In 2004 he married his present wife Marjorie Giertz Alarie. James (Jim) is survived by his wife Marjorie Alarie, 4 children Michelle (Bill) Herman, Michael (Judy) Alarie, Richard Alarie, Melissa (Mike) Del Sordo and three grandchildren Adam Herman, James Alarie and Lindsay Alarie. Jim was a member of the Holy Trinity Church; it's Usher's Club, Bay City Lion's Club, the Elks Club and the K of C 414 in Bay City, where he was a lifetime member and past Grand Knight. He was a lifetime member of the K of C MI State Bowling Assoc. serving as President and Treasurer. He retired from JR Heineman in 1991. He served his county in WWII in the US Army Air Corps. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at 10:00 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Concelebrating will be Rev. Fr. Robert S. Gohm & Rev. Fr. Patrick J. O'Connor with the Rite of Committal following in St. Patrick Cemetery in Bay City followed by Military Honors conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Monday from 2:00 to 5:00 & 7:00 to 9:00pm. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place at 4:00pm. The K of C Bible Presentation will begin at 7:30pm followed by the Lions Club Service of Remembrance. Memorial cards for Holy Trinity Church or the St. Vincent De Paul Society food pantry will be available at the funeral home.
