James J. Hughes

Jim passed away Sunday, October 4, 2020 at MidMichigan Medical Center, Midland at the age of 81 years. He was born in Midland on October 31, 1938 to the late John and Elsie (Anderson) Hughes. Jim married the former Joyce Rider in Midland on May 21, 1959 and they were married for 61 years. Jim owned and operated Hughes Automotive and Hughes Custom Paint for 40 years. In his spare time he enjoyed working on projects, painting cars and spending time with his family.
Jim is survived by his wife, Joyce; son, John Hughes; daughters, Lori Hughes and Holly (Michael) Troia; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; sister, Marjorie Kunz and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Julie Morton and sister, Lillian Anger.
