James W. Macomber

Mr. Macomber passed away on Friday, May 3, 2019 at his residence. Age 75 years. The son of the late Gordan and Ruth (Wilson) Macomber was born April 23, 1944 in Saginaw, Michigan. Mr. Macomber was a member on Our Lady of Peace Parish and was a commissioned Lay Minister. Mr. Macomber served his country in the U.S. Navy and was retired from Consumers Energy after 42 years of service. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and taking canoe trips to the boundary waters with friends, but most of all spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Macomber is survived by his wife, the former Sally A. Hagerty whom he married on August 13, 1966; three children, Ruth (Curt) Reminder, Matthew (Dr. Catherine) Macomber and Mark Macomber; seven grandchildren, Elaina (Justin) Hughes, Emily Macomber, Kevin Reminder, Grace Macomber, Michael Reminder, Cole Macomber and Sophia Macomber; two great grandchildren, Zoey and Maci Hughes; many nieces, nephews and his extra kids, Dustin Palik and Stacy Watts. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Terry Macomber and one sister, Patty Yacks.

Memorial Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 10, 2019 at Our Lady of Peace Parish (607 E. South Union St., Bay City, MI  48706) Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Pat O'Connor. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place on Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. Memorial cards for the wishes of the family will be available at the funeral home.
